Sheep blindly following orders
As children we are bred to live life a certain way,
meet expectations,
by doing so we lose our inner child,
our own inner happiness,
our own sense of self,
our own sense of love.
We have these walls we put ourselves in,
A life with misconstructions, and barriers.
All the lies that we tell ourselves,
how we should be,
and what we should do.
We suppress ourselves,
our own desires,
for the greater good,
for the community,
for the society.
In doing so, draining our life force,
our own sense worth.
Never do we question what we want,
always questioning what society wants.
A sheep following orders.
We always think our life is set.
A path set in stone.
Never do we question it,
never do we stop,
and enjoy the sunset.
Never do we laugh,
without pain,
without judgments,
and without walls.
Never do we love ourselves for who we are,
without pain,
without suffering.
Never do we see the world as it truly is,
unfiltered,
without our preconceived notions.
We tour the world as puppets,
as caricatures,
chained to this capitalist society,
never living,
but only existing.
Yet never questioning the source of our happiness,
the source of happiness that is rooted within.
When we realize happiness comes from within,
we stop pleasing others,
and start pleasing ourselves.
We start to enjoy own company,
and we become our own best friends.
We start to love ourselves.
Not for who we want to b ,
or who we were,
but who we are now.
We start to find an inner strength,
an inner peace.
We stop trying to be something that we are not.
Instead we enjoy who we are right now.
We start to see the world with freedom,
without a stone on our backs.
A pressure lifted,
a sense of deep self love sets in.
We go by our days,
self assured.
Unmoved by everything that is going on around us.
Our true nature,
the whole world opens up,
this very present moment where everything is,
that is where love is.
